Reclamation. Recycling. Recovery.

Nelson Environmental Remediation is joining reclamation professionals from across Canada at ARC2026 in Quispamsis, New Brunswick.

For more than three decades, Nelson has brought mobile environmental solutions directly to complex contaminated sites. Today, our technologies go beyond remediation alone, helping customers reclaim land, recycle materials and recover value from challenging waste streams.

Mobile technology. Proven in remote and extreme environments globally.

Contaminated material does not always have to become waste.

Nelson designs and deploys mobile thermal systems capable of treating complex contaminated materials at or near their source. Depending on the application, treatment can destroy contaminants, enable material reuse and recover resources that would otherwise be lost to disposal.

Our global mobile thermal fleet includes direct-fired and indirect thermal technologies engineered to perform in diverse biomes for different contaminants, materials and recovery objectives.

Direct-Fire ThermalTioga, North DakotaApproximately 1.2 million tonnes of Bakken crude-impacted soil thermally treated on site and returned to agricultural production.

Indirect ThermalMill scale, Eastern CanadaApproximately 80,000 tonnes treated by indirect thermal desorption, recovering oil for reuse and returning ferrous material to production.

PFAS Thermal TechnologyInternational test bedNelson’s Edmonton facility was selected by the NATO Science & Technology Organization as a test bed for evaluating thermal technology addressing the global challenge of PFAS forever chemicals.

Resource recovery

Nelson. Because waste has value.

Some industrial waste streams contain materials worth recovering. Others can be treated so that useful components return to productive use rather than being transported long distances for disposal.

Nelson combines thermal expertise, mobile processing configurations and decades of field experience to develop recovery strategies around the material itself.

SAGD drill cuttings

Separate heavy hydrocarbons at the lease or disposal site to reduce long-term residual liability.

Recoverable oils

Separate usable hydrocarbons from sludges, liquid mixtures and complex industrial matrices.

Mill scale

Recover oil and preserve iron-rich solids for approved return to industrial use.

fly ash

Process and condition complex ash streams for approved downstream reuse.

Why Nelson

Engineered for working everywhere.

Every contaminated site is different. Soil conditions change. Contaminants change. Logistics change. The solution has to work where the problem actually exists.

Nelson combines engineering, field experience and one of the world’s largest fleets of mobile thermal remediation equipment to develop treatment strategies around the site rather than forcing the site around the technology.

From contaminated soil to industrial residuals and recoverable materials, our objective is the same: solve the immediate environmental problem while creating the best possible long-term outcome.

Nelson brings reclamation, recycling and resource recovery solutions to ARC2026

Leading Canadian remediation company will showcase thermal treatment, PFAS and resource recovery approaches at the Atlantic Reclamation Conference in Quispamsis

QUISPAMSIS, NB, September 30, 2026. Nelson Environmental Remediation will bring its reclamation, recycling and resource recovery experience to ARC2026 in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, October 7–9.

This leading Canadian remediation company has spent more than three decades treating contaminated soil and difficult industrial materials, with an emphasis on finding productive outcomes for material that might otherwise be treated only as waste.

Nelson’s mobile thermal systems have treated millions of tonnes of contaminated soil, including more than 1.2 million tonnes of hydrocarbon-impacted soil in North Dakota, one of the largest inland oil spills in US history. In eastern Canada, Nelson also treated approximately 80,000 tonnes of oil-impacted mill scale at an operating steel facility, recovering oil and returning treated material to productive use. Currently, Nelson is also remediating legacy dioxin residues in Vietnam. Nelson operates one of the largest thermal remediation fleets in the world.

At ARC2026, Nelson will be showcasing contaminated soil remediation, hydrocarbons, PFAS, resource recovery, thermal treatment and other approaches designed to reduce disposal while recovering value where project conditions allow.

Nelson is a Silver Sponsor of ARC2026. The event is being held at the qplex in Quispamsis.

“The best remediation outcome is not always disposal. When we can remove the contamination, recover what still has value and return material to productive use, we create better environmental and economic outcomes,” said Warren Nelson, CEO of Nelson Environmental Remediation.
