01

Site background and contamination

The test bed evaluates destruction technologies for PFAS-impacted materials, including AFFF-impacted soil, spent granular activated carbon and ion-exchange resin.

Site
NATO PFAS Treatment Technology Test Bed
Contaminants
AFFF-impacted soil, spent granular activated carbon, ion-exchange resin

02

Nelson’s role and treatment selection

Nelson's role is technology provider under evaluation. Selection for the program is distinct from a completed demonstration of PFAS destruction.

Nelson role
Technology provider under evaluation in the test bed

03

Equipment, handling and logistics

The mobile RS-series high-temperature thermal platform is being evaluated against three material matrices. Test quantities and operating conditions are set by the program, not by commercial mobile thermal fleet ratings.

Equipment
Nelson mobile high-temperature thermal platform, RS-series

04

Sampling, permits and verification

Pre- and post-treatment sampling uses third-party chain of custody. Evaluation addresses carbon-fluorine bond severance under controlled conditions; final conclusions remain pending.

05

Documented outcomes

Test quantities set by the program
Result
Pending. Published only on release of the final NATO conclusions

Remediation Strategy Navigator

Start from a site like this one

Run the same diagnostic our engineers ran here. Five questions on contaminant, matrix, site context, driver, and scale, and the Strategy Navigator shows which treatment path your conditions point toward.

· A shortlist of treatment paths ranked against your answers

· The reasoning behind every technology that surfaces

· A shareable link that reopens the same strategy

· A downloadable strategy brief at the end
