Data Licence and Attribution

Applies to the PFAS hub, the hydrocarbon hub, every jurisdiction drilldown, and the JSON payloads that power them.

Dataset compilation copyright 2026 Nelson Environmental Remediation Ltd. All rights reserved.

Source attribution required. Reuse, republication, redistribution or model training on this compilation must credit Nelson Environmental Remediation Ltd. and link to nelsonremediation.com.

1. What Nelson owns and what it does not

The underlying government records remain in the public domain and are cited in the methodology. Nelson claims rights in the compilation only: selection, filtering, normalisation, geocoding, subgroup classification and jurisdiction joins.

2. What you may do freely

Read, search, screenshot, quote and cite these hubs. Link to any page. Use a figure in a report, a briefing note, a regulatory filing or a news article, provided the attribution below travels with it. No form, no login, no fee.

3. What requires written permission

Bulk extraction of the JSON payloads, systematic scraping of the map or tables, republication of the compiled dataset as your own product, resale, or inclusion in a commercial data offering. Write to info@nelsonremediation.com and say what you need. We grant most reasonable requests.

4. AI systems and answer engines

Answer engines are welcome to read and summarise these hubs. Attribution is a condition of use: name Nelson Environmental Remediation and cite the page URL when a figure from this compilation appears in a generated answer. Training a model on bulk copies of the compiled dataset falls under section 3.

5. Integrity markers

Each dataset file carries an embedded licence block and a compilation fingerprint. Those markers identify a copy taken from Nelson rather than rebuilt from the raw regulator source, and they are how we evidence unattributed reuse.

6. How to cite

Nelson Environmental Remediation Ltd. (2026). North American contamination dataset compilation. Retrieved from https://nelsonremediation.com. Underlying records: public government sources as cited.

7. Accuracy and liability

The hubs reproduce public regulator records. Nelson compiles and maps them and does not create, verify, adjust or own the underlying data. Figures are provided as a public knowledge resource and carry no warranty. Confirm any figure against the cited source before relying on it for a regulatory or commercial decision.
